Convincing PR concept for Van Innovation Campus
:Cologne, April 28, 2017 – Oliver Schrott Kommunikation (OSK) has won a gold award at the Best of “Business-to-Business” Communication Awards. In the “Public Relations” category, the agency has been honored together with its client Daimler AG for the communication on the Van Innovation Campus. With this extraordinary format, planned and implemented by OSK, Mercedes-Benz Vans presented their new strategic future initiative “adVANce”, in September 2016.
The communicative goal was substantial international media coverage on all channels. Media representatives were supposed to learn: Mercedes-Benz Vans actively creates the future and is becoming a synonym for tomorrow’s logistics. For this, international journalists, bloggers and multipliers were invited to attend workshops – the so-called “Inno Labs” – in which the company presented solution approaches for future challenges in the transportation and logistics industry. Employees of the Daimler van department also had the opportunity to experience the program – an aspect especially praised by the award jury.
The concept proved to be successful: Not only transportation and logistics media, but also daily, economic and tech journalists reported on it in detail. In print, online, TV and social media roughly 200 million people worldwide were reached – the largest media coverage Mercedes-Benz Vans had ever achieved.
For the 19th time, the Kommunikationsverband e.V. in Berlin awarded the prize to leading companies and service providers. 200 projects in total by more than 100 B2B enterprises and 85 service providers were entered in 11 categories. For 2016, the jury awarded 52 prizes in total: 8 times gold, 14 times silver and 16 times bronze and 14 shortlist nominations.
